Thank you for your interest in the first ever Greater Manchester 500 Word Writing Competition!

This really is an opportunity to encourage the children to write, as well as to showcase the amazing talent in our Trafford schools. There are also some exciting prizes to be won!

• A kindle for the overall winner, plus £50 book vouchers and £400 for the School Library
• A kindle for each year group winner
• A film made of one of the winning entries
• All commended pieces to be included in an anthology
• Invitation to an Awards Ceremony, where the winning pieces will be read by a special guest and brought to life in a Drama performance

All you need to do is:

• Share the attached PPT with your key Stage 2 staff
• Ask your children to write up to 500 words
• Select the best two entries from years 3,4,5, and 6
• Use Calibri text, size 11 and no pictures please.
• Send the stories and the Submission Form for each story to Wendi Swan at:
• All entries to be received on or before Thursday 16th June 2023 at 5pm
• All entries MUST be sent, attached to the entry form. If not, they will be disregarded, so that the competition administration is manageable
